  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 cup pecans


  1. Mix milk and sugars and bringto a boil

  2. Lower the heat and cookuntil it forms a ball in coldwater. (Test as you go).

  3. Add margarine, vanilla, and pecans and beat until slightly creamy using a wooden spoon.

  4. Stop when ripples show at the edges.

  5. Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper.

  6. If mixture hardens set in a pan of hot water.
