Hash Brown Potatoes

  • 3 pounds of sliced russet potatoes
  • ½ medium onion diced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup canola oil


  1. Heat the pan until quite hot so the oil almost starts to smoke.

  2. Add the sliced potatoes and spices until the potatoes start to brown at the edges.

  3. Turn the potatoes with a spatula and add the onions.

  4. Continue to cook until the potatoes are brown on both sides and the onions are wilted.

  5. Serve as soon as possible to keep the crispiness in the potato.
