Green Papaya Salad

  • 1 cup raw green papaya julienned
  • ½ cup carrots julienned
  • ½ cup mix of thinly sliced red and green cabbage
  • 1/3 cup long beans (green beans or haricot vert) Cut 1 ½ inches long
  • 4 cherry tomatoes cut in half
  • ¼ cup roasted peanuts
  • 1 ½ tablespoon dried shrimp
  • 1 whole clove of garlic minced
  • 2-3 red Thai chilies thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ tablespoon palm sugar
  • 2 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 ½ tablespoon lime juice


  1. With a wooden mortar and pestle, pound chilies and garlic until crushed.

  2. Add green beans, dried shrimp, and peanuts and pounded gently.

  3. Add, mix of palm sugar, lime juice and fish sauce.

  4. Add papaya, carrots and cabbage and mix thoroughly.

  5. Garnish with peanuts, cherry tomatoes and Thai herbs.
