Chicken Cakes with Teriyaki Sauce

  • Chicken Cakes:
  • 1lb ground chicken
  • ¼ grated onion
  • 1 ½ tsp soy sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ tsp sugar
  • Cornish
  • 1tbsp oil
  • Green onion for garnish (shredded & soaked in cold water)
  • Teriyaki Sauce:
  • 2tbsp sake or dry white wine
  • 2tbsp mirin
  • 2tbsp sugar
  • 2tbsp lite soy sauce


  1. Chicken Cakes: Combine chicken egg, onion, sugar, soy sauce until mixture has sticky texture

  2. Shape mixture into 1

  3. Meatballs and then flatten slightly, dust with cornstarch

  4. Heat oil in frying pan and cook cakes over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, turning once an cook and additional 2-3 minutes

  5. Add sauce an turn cakes to evenly coat all sides

  6. Cook several minute until cakes are evenly glazed.

  7. Remove cakes to serving platter garnish with scallions, serve hot.

  8. Teriyaki Sauce: Combine all ingrediants into a mixing bowel and mix well
