Basic Herb Syrup

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 - 10 fresh herb sprigs (or 1/2 to 1 cup fresh herb leaves)


  1. Combine water and sugar in small saucepan and bring to a boil over moderate heat (stir till sugar dissolves).

  2. Add herbs.

  3. Remove from heat and let stand till cooled to room temperature.

  4. Refridgerate.

  5. Will keep for a few months in the refridgerator or up to a year in the freezer.
