1st Thursday Book Club

Join us in a lively discussion of recent literary fiction. We meet the first Thursday of every month from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.  at the Cape May Court House Library.  Below is the current reading list. If you would like to be part of any or all of these discussions, you are welcome to join us. No need to sign up - just show up!

The Great Books Reading and Discussion Group

The  Great Books Reading and Discussion group will begin again this October.  Great Books has been meeting at the Cape May Court House Library for over 20 years.  The discussion sessions are held every other Thursday from 10am to 12 noon from October through May at the Cape May Court House Library.

This year the group is reading the “First Series”; an anthology that is a selection of nonfiction and fiction that includes works by the authors Chechov,  Aristotle, Plato, Conrad, Shakespeare, Rousseau, Conrad…  Readers who value intellectual growth and civic discussion will be challenged by Great Books.

 

 

Great Classic Fiction Book Club

The Great Classic Fiction Book Club meets every 3rd Thursday of the month* at 4:00 PM at the Cape May Court House Library. Sallie Mellem will be leading the discussion, holds a Master's degree in Literature and has taught secondary English for 27 years as well as other adult seminars. The class determines what book is next read and then discussed. If you are interested in joining this book club, please call Sallie Mellem at 884-8625 for more information and the title of the next book to be read.

*There will be no Great Classic Fiction Book Club meeting during July or August.
